Revelation 17:14
These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.
The Called.
And Chosen.
And Faithful.
This is how He sees me. He has hand selected me, with all my faults, failures, and smallness. He saw through it to an eternity with me.
He has called me up to believe something greater than I can understand. He is incomprehensible (I’ve been reading Tozer again) and though my heart can’t really conceive of it – He has decided to live within it.
He calls me the faithful, which is more than I am. But just like I call out good character in my own children, He is calling me out to be….like Him.
But, never mind about me.
He is:
The lamb…
Lord of lords…..
King of kings.
The sacrifice for my sins – my leader, my sovereign, my commander – invites me to be with Him. No matter how I see myself, when I see Him I stand in awe that He wants me to be with Him. The word with actually means behind, after and following in this text. So I have the reassurance that He is leading the way, my path is marked out, I only have to follow. He will be the One to overcome, and I get to be with Him.
Oh Lord how amazed I stand that you would even bother with me. But You say it is so, and today my response is to be quiet in your presence. To know that You are in complete control and that I can simply be With you and try to understand all that it really means.

Stacy,
This is sooo good! I love Tozer as well!! I’m leading a Bible Study with our women right now about the Names of God (Kay Arthur) and we just discussed Yahweh (Jehovah) last night. In the Old Testament they would not even say this name because it was just too holy! They would just breathe in its place! Your blog reminded me of this – God can just breathe and He is! He is just that Holy! It still amazes me!
Thanks for a great word today! I’m enjoying following your blog!
Have a great Thursday!

Oh Penny I love that “they would just breathe in its place”. I picture in my mind breathing out and in – taking it all in who He is! This is the pause in my day I truly need!
Thanks so much for sharing!

I’m so glad I stopped in from Emily’s place (“Chatting At The Sky”). I was lifted up by this beautiful post. I especially loved: “This is how He sees me. He has hand selected me, with all my faults, failures, and smallness. He saw through it to an eternity with me.” If you don’t mind, I’ll just carry that one in my heart today.

I am praying that it will encourage your heart all day long as it makes itself at home! Thanks for stopping by my sister!
I just adore that verse. To know that I am chosen…it’s a beautiful thing. And to think that He sees me as faithful…He sees what I’m capable of and He sees my desire to love Him more.
What an awesome word this morning!

Thanks Stacy! I love to think of it this way, God leans down and whispers in your ear, “Hey Stacey, I chose you…before time began to be mine.”
I just love that!
