The No Brainer Wardrobe Ebook {giveaway}

It really is about realizing that looking perfect everyday isn’t the aim.” Looking good and put together, feeling proud and confident–now that is what it’s about.” You don’t have to spend a fortune; you don’t have to spend an eternity.” You just need to let go of a few preconceived ideas that you’ve probably carried with you without even knowing it. — Hayley Morgan, The Tiny Twig

This is the Ebook I wish I had written. Instead, it is written by the adorable Hayley, The Tiny Twig, who also wrote the 31 Day Series I wanted to write by the same name. You see, in my dreams I am a fashion blogger. But this is really not about me, it is about Hayley and her super awesome Ebook called The No Brainer Wardrobe.

“You see, clothes are just made to cover your body and keep you warm. The plus side is that clothes can also be beautiful, an expression of ourselves, and a way to play up our best features. But, clothes don’t have power over you. You have power over them.” — page 9

In this Ebook Hayley tells you how to:

  • Master your closet
  • Discern your style
  • Build a wardrobe you will love with Essentials, Additions, and Finishers
  • Shop on a budget (even Thrift Stores)
  • And more.

I like that Hayley also includes tips for maternity, business wear and plus sized women. But my favorite section is called “How to Discern Your Body Type”.  This information is invaluable and I think the key to looking your best as a woman of any size or shape. The best part? I now know my style icons are Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce,  & Maria Menounos because they are triangle shaped, just like me!

The No Brainer Wardrobe can be yours for $7.99 by going here. It would be fabulous to keep on your smart phone as a shopping guide, In the long run, this Ebook will help save you money by keeping you from buying clothes you don’t need or really love.

Because Hayley is awesome, she is making it possible for one follower of 29lincolnavenue to win a copy of her new Ebook. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me what item in your wardrobe is your go to item?  You can also share this post on your Facebook page or Tweet about the giveaway.  Give yourself an extra comment for each action you take.  Contest is open through Sunday January 8.  I will notify the winner by email and announce it next week.

*For the purpose of review, Haley provided me with a copy of The No Brainer Wardrobe. Opinions are all mine.

Hayley has a house full of boys.  It’s probably due to that fact that she feels strongly that she must maintain a look that is feminine and cute.  However, equally important, her routine must be simple and accommodating to her life as a mom of three little men.

Because of her desires and her constraints, she has developed a way of living that maximizes her time and energy for passion and ruthlessly eliminates unwanted fuss.

Follow along and engage at Tiny Twig Goes Out on a Limb, her blog which inspires women to create lives with more passion and less fuss.  You can also catch her daily tweets, about creativity, life management, motherhood, and faith at@thetinytwig.

A New Favorite Thing :: NYR Organics {giveaway}

I have always been a girly girl.  I love make up.  I love potions. Have I ever mentioned one of my favorite jobs was working at Bath and Body Works?  Or that my granddaddy who turned 90 last month sold Estee Lauder since I was a little girl?  I guess you could say, all this love of girly stuff comes natural for me.

I also love to try new things. So, when my dear friend Edie, shared a new product line with me, I was excited to run home and try all of her fun new items.  The line is called NYR Organics (that is short for “Neal’s Yard Remedies”) and is based out of London.  Apparently, this company is one of the top selling organic skincare companies in London, Japan, and Dubai. Only this year, has it arrived here in the States. NYR began in 1981 driven by the passionate belief that health and beauty should be more natural and less synthetic. Their mission as stated on their company website is…

To improve the quality of people’s lives by sharing our expertise and encouraging a more natural, holistic way of health, beauty, and well-being.

My friend Edie is pretty excited about this company and as her friend, I wanted to do what I could to support her. Plus, you know, I love partnering with moms who run small businesses to bless their families.  Here are a few of my favorite things:

Left: White Tea Toning Eye Gel - tones and brightens the area around your eyes (It feels amazing!)

Center : Chamomile Cleanser – a cream cleanser for normal skin that soothes and hydrates. (I have a weird aversion to foaming washes that get up my nose when I wash my face?  Am I the only one?)

Right: Wild Rose Serum – a pricier item to be sure,  but when your 40 you need a nightly treatment to help make you look 20. (So worth it.)

I also love the pretty packaging and I think this would make a lovely Christmas Gift! Some of their skin care lines are made with Frankincense – which definitely says Christmas.

***

Did I mention Edie is awesome? She wants to bless one of you with a gift certificate for $25 towards any NYR product of your choosing! (winner is responsible for shipping cost)  All you have to do is go over to her personal NYR website, find something you would love to give or receive this Christmas, and come back and tell me in a comment. We are going to do this quick, because if you place an order by December 15, you should have it by Christmas!  So this contest is open for today Tuesday Dec. 13 only!  I’ll draw a winner and announce it tomorrow!

The Word of God and the Heroes Who Shaped America {Giveaway}

The first and almost the only book deserving of universal attention is the Bible.  I speak as a man of the world…and I say to you, ‘Search the Scriptures.’

John Adams, Second President of the United States of America

You know I love God’s Word.  I love sharing it with my girls in every way I can.  Next semester, we are  focusing on American History and studying our founding fathers.  I could not be more excited to tell you about a resource, produced by Thomas Nelson, that brings these two things together.  It is the Young American Patriot’s Bible ,by Dr. Richard G. Lee.

{from the inside cover} This Bible “pairs the New King James Version with articles focusing on many of the heroes and events that helped to make this nation what it is today.  Beautiful full-color insert pages spotlight a collection of presidents, great thinkers, influential people, monuments, and events that present the rich heritage and future of our great nation.”

Thomas Nelson was kind enough to send me a copy to review and my oldest daughter took it immediately to her room to read the 64 articles. I love that!  We are planning to use this as our school room Bible and keep in nearby as we study next semester. I believe, it will help my girls understand the importance of God’s Word and how it helped shape our country.

:::::

The amazing people at Tommy Mommy, also want to give you a chance to WIN a copy of the is beautiful Bible for your family.  To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment and tell me what American Hero you would like learn more about! 31 Days {Day 27} :: Two are Better {Giveaway}

flickr photo credit edenpictures

God has always been a fan of the buddy system.

Adam had Eve.

The animals came two by two.

David had Jonathan.

Jesus had 12.

Paul had Silas, Timothy, Barnabas and Mark.

You were made like Him, and He is the perfect strand of 3.

Who encourages you? When was the last time you sat across the table from her or shared your cheesecake?  Did you notice that when you parted, you were stronger, just by being together?

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12

God wants you to know He made you to fit with others. The best of the best are those who share your heart and passion for Him.  Those cords are the strongest.  I know relationships take time, I struggle to maintain them in my life as a busy mom of four.  But every effort is blessed.

Now, for something fun! One of my favorite writers and (in)Couragers is Holley Gerth.  I’m looking forward to seeing her this week at the Relevant Conference.   She is a writer for Dayspring and one of the amazing women behind (in)Courage.  She has the sweetest new book called “God’s Heart for You.”

She has graciously sent me 2 copies, and I’m giving them away today! If you win, you get to keep one and give the other to your BFF. Just leave a comment and tell me how you met and what is your favorite thing to do together.  I’ll announce the winner next week!
